Job Description

The Company is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team and maintaining the restaurant's standards across all services. The position is available on a full-time basis, with an immediate start. The position involves rostered evening and weekend work.

Key responsibilities

n

Support the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen and lead service in the Head Chef's absence

n

Supervise, train and develop the kitchen team

n

Maintain food quality, consistency and presentation standards

n

Assist with ordering, stock control and food cost management

n

Contribute to menu development and recipe documentation

n

Maintain food safety, allergen management, labelling and cleaning records in accordance with NSW Food Authority requirements and HACCP principles

n

About you

n

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (minimum) or equivalent trade qualification

n

At least three years' post-trade experience in a busy commercial kitchen

n

Experience leading a kitchen section and running service without direct supervision

n

Demonstrated leadership, communication and organisational skills

n

Sound time management and the ability to work effectively under pressure

n

A thorough understanding of food safety,



allergen management and HACCP principles

n

Availability for rostered evening and weekend work, and willingness to work public holidays when requested

n

Valid Australian work rights or, for the full-time position, eligibility for employer sponsorship

n

Experience with French or Asian cuisine (desirable)

Annual salary of $80,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience, for 38 ordinary hours per week plus reasonable additional hours in accordance with the National Employment Standards
