Our client is a highly regarded mechanical services contractor with an established reputation for delivering complex HVAC and mechanical engineering solutions across some of Australia's most significant construction projects.
n With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.
n This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging, large-scale mechanical packages across Tier 1 construction environments, including data centres, mission-critical facilities, major commercial developments, universities, institutional projects and high-rise construction.

Working alongside experienced engineering and project delivery professionals, you will play a key role in the design, coordination and successful delivery of complex HVAC systems from concept through to commissioning and handover.

The Role n

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in the full engineering and project delivery lifecycle, providing technical expertise across design and construct projects.
n Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Undertaking detailed engineering calculations, including heating and cooling loads, duct sizing, pipe sizing and equipment selection.
n
- Delivering mechanical engineering solutions across large-scale HVAC and design and construct projects.
n
- Reviewing consultant designs, specifications and technical documentation, providing engineering recommendations and identifying opportunities for design optimisation.
n
- Preparing engineering documentation and coordinating mechanical drawings with drafting teams.
n
- Reviewing workshop drawings, equipment submissions and technical specifications.
n
- Selecting mechanical plant and equipment, including chillers, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers and associated HVAC systems.
n
- Supporting the design and delivery of mechanical infrastructure for data centres and mission-critical environments.
n
- Utilising Camel Heat and other engineering software for load calculations and system design.
n
- Reviewing tender documentation, subcontractor quotations and technical submissions.
n
- Coordinating with project managers, site teams, consultants and Tier 1 builders to resolve engineering and installation challenges.
n
- Supporting commissioning, testing, defect resolution and the preparation of O&M; manuals.
n
- Ensuring mechanical systems comply with relevant Australian Standards, NCC requirements and project specifications.

About You n

We are looking for a technically capable Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and working across major construction projects.

n

To be considered, you will ideally possess:

n

n
- A completed Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
n
- Approximately 3–5 years of experience in HVAC and mechanical building services engineering.
n
- Experience working for a mechanical contractor, engineering consultancy or within a major construction environment.
n
- Strong knowledge of HVAC design, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and mechanical services systems.
n
- Experience undertaking engineering calculations and selecting mechanical plant and equipment.
n
- Exposure to design and construct projects and the mechanical construction lifecycle.
n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using HVAC calculation software such as Camel Heat.
n
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam or SolidWorks will be highly regarded.
n
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, consultants, subcontractors and site personnel.
n

Experience across data centres, mission-critical infrastructure, large central plant systems or Tier 1 construction projects will be highly regarded.
