Test Engineer (Guidewire)
n Location: Melbourne
n Employment Type: Contract (Full-Time) | 50% in-office, 50% WFH
n Contract Length: June 30th, 2027 initial (Likely 6-12 month extension)

Role Overview

n

An opportunity to join a major enterprise organisation undergoing a large-scale system transformation to assure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of critical data as it migrates from legacy environments into up-to-date target platforms. In this technical, hands‐on role, you will design migration test strategies, validate complex source-to-target data transformations, reconcile high-volume data sets, and collaborate across Agile delivery teams to drive business readiness.

Key Criteria

n

5+ years of dedicated data migration QA testing experience on large-scale transformation programs (Insurance industry experience strongly preferred).

n

5+ years of expert-level SQL querying skills and hands‐on experience with PostgreSQL, including translating business requirements into complex SQL query statements.

n

5+ years of experience in defect investigation, code triage, and root cause analysis of data discrepancies.

n

2+ years of hands‐on experience working with Guidewire platforms.

n

2+ years of experience operating within Agile delivery methodologies and utilizing Jira.

n





Technical expertise setting up DevOps automation pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.

n

Strong background in database schema interpretation, count validation, and duplicate testing across high-volume data environments.

Key Responsibilities

n

Analyze business requirements, mapping documentation, and database schemas to construct comprehensive test coverage for data migration initiatives.

n

Design, build, and maintain robust migration test scripts and validation routines.

n

Execute end-to-end source-to-target data validation, count checks, and duplicate reconciliation across core data layers.

n

Triage, investigate, and manage technical defects to resolution using expert SQL and PostgreSQL.

n

Partner with Developers and Business Analysts to resolve data transformation issues and clarify operational rules.

n

Support technical automation efforts within DevOps frameworks using tools like Jenkins and GitHub.

n

Produce quality assurance reporting to track data quality risks, testing metrics, and final business readiness.

n
