MIGAS is proud to be partnering with Anglo American, one of Australia's largest suppliers of quality steelmaking coal with a focus on safety and sustainability.

n

Undertaking this four-year apprenticeship at Aquila Mine, 32kmsouth from Middlemount in central Queensland, will give you the opportunity to become a trade qualified and earn aUEE30820Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.

n

Aquila Mine has been developed as one Australia's most technologically advanced underground mines, leveraging Anglo American's advancements in underground automation technology, remote operations and data analytics.

n

As a full-timeElectrical Apprentice, you will gain hands‐on experience working alongside experienced tradespeople while beginning the journey to develop the practical skills and knowledge required to become a qualified electrician.

n

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will learn how to:

n

- Install, service, maintain, repair, isolate, test, and commission a range of electrical systems and fixed infrastructure used in the coal mining industry
n
- Work with advanced technologies, including high-voltage electrical equipment, communications systems, and backup power infrastructure
n
- Apply industry‐leading safety practices and develop valuable trade skills in a real‐world mining environment
n

You'llgainhands‐onexperience across Aquila Mine underground operations, supported by a tailored training plan, experienced trade professionals, and offsite TAFE training.

n

You will commence on a 4/3 roster Monday to Thursday, starting at 5:30am and finishing at 5:30pm.

n

The apprenticeship will commence at the beginning of 2027.

About You

n

n
- You will bring a passion for the trade and be willing to listen, learn and actively seek out new learning opportunities
n
- Ability to work well in a team
n
- You will possess a good level of language, literacy and numeracy skills
n
- A robust focus on safety
n
- Completed Year 12 before the apprenticeship commences
n
- Have a robust interest in electrical work
n
- Hold or near completion of obtaining a Certificate II in Electrotechnology would be advantageous
n
- Have the ability to obtain a Health Assessment under the Coal Mine Workers' Health Scheme, Standard 11 mining induction program, Drug and Alcohol test, and Police Check
