Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Engineering & Mechanical Estimator to join our team at our Emu Plains facility.

n

This is a great chance for someone with strong mechanical and fabrication knowledge who understands industrial projects and can accurately scope, price and prepare competitive tenders.

About the Role

n

As our Engineering & Mechanical Estimator, you will work closely with our management, project, workshop and site teams to prepare estimates and tenders for a variety of mechanical engineering, fabrication, maintenance and installation projects.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Reviewing drawings, models, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation
n
- Preparing detailed and accurate estimates and quotations
n
- Calculating labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements
n
- Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
n
- Preparing tender submissions and proposals
n
- Conducting site visits to assess and scope potential works
n
- Identifying project risks, opportunities and potential variations
n
- Liaising with clients to clarify scopes and project requirements
n
- Working closely with project managers, supervisors and workshop personnel
n
- Assisting with project handovers from estimating through to delivery
n
- Maintaining current knowledge of labour, material and industry pricing
n
- Assisting with variations and additional works on existing projects
n




- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers
n

About You

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- Previous experience in mechanical, engineering or fabrication estimating
n
- A strong understanding of mechanical installation, fabrication and industrial maintenance works
n
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and scopes
n
- Experience estimating labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs
n
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
n
- Good computer and estimating software skills
n
- Solid communication and negotiation skills
n
- The ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities
n
- A practical understanding of how projects are delivered onsite and within a workshop environment
n
- Experience within industrial, manufacturing, steel, mining, energy or heavy industry will be highly regarded
n
- A mechanical trade or engineering background would also be highly regarded.
