Nurse Practitioner – The Infusion Clinic, Randwick NSW
n An exciting opportunity has arisen for an AHPRA-endorsed Nurse Practitioner, with current provider and prescribing numbers to join our busy infusion clinic in Randwick, NSW.

n

The Infusion Clinic is Australia's first nurse-led infusion service, providing patients with access to intravenous (IV) therapies following referral from their GP or specialist. Treatments include iron infusions and biologic therapies for a range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

n

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner, Monday to Friday, to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse patient population.

n

Working within our nurse-led model, you will have the opportunity to utilise your advanced clinical skills while working autonomously within established clinical protocols and collaborating closely with referring medical practitioners and our experienced nursing team.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments and determining patient suitability for prescribed IV therapies.
n
- Reviewing referrals, medical histories, pathology and relevant clinical information.
n
- Assessing and managing patients before, during and following their infusion.
n
- Prescribing and administering medications within your scope of practice and in accordance with relevant legislation, clinical guidelines and clinic protocols.
n
- Monitoring patients for adverse reactions and providing appropriate clinical management when required.

- Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies.
n
- Providing patient education regarding their treatment, expected outcomes and potential adverse effects.
n
- Communicating effectively with referring GPs, specialists and other healthcare professionals.
n
- Maintaining accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation.
n
- Supporting the development and continuous improvement of clinical protocols, policies and procedures.
n
- Contributing to a strong culture of clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement.
n
- Working collaboratively with our nursing team while demonstrating a high degree of professional autonomy.

About you

n

You will be an experienced and confident Nurse Practitioner who is comfortable working within a nurse-led clinical environment and managing patients independently.

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- Current AHPRA registration and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner
n
- Current Medicare provider number and prescribing authority
n
- Appropriate clinical qualifications and experience relevant to advanced nursing practice
n
- Demonstrated experience in acute or outpatient clinical settings
n
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
n
- Excellent IV cannulation and infusion skills
n
- Experience administering IV medications, including biologic therapies, is highly desirable
n




- A sound understanding of medication safety, adverse drug reactions and emergency management
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Excellent skills in establishing a rapport with patients and providing calm, reassuring and compassionate care
n
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
n
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
n
- A commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance and ongoing professional development
