Our focus at Leopold Pet Hospital is to provide excellent patient care in a fun and friendly team setting. While initially we are looking for an experienced veterinary nurse to fill a maternity leave position, we have the scope to offer the successful candidate ongoing work. So if you want to try us out for a 10-month commitment, or if you want a longer term role, we can accommodate. We are a small animal clinic based just outside of Geelong in Victoria. We do best to ensure all members of the team can achieve a life work balance they are happy with! (PS. We don't work weekends! Yay!)

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

n

n
- Undertaking nursing duties, including surgical preparation, and monitoring anaesthesia, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and caring for hospitalised animals.
n




- Maintenance of hygiene and adhere to infection control protocols.
n
- Providing animal care information on husbandry, nutrition, parasite control and behaviour to pet owners.
n
- Animal handling including pathology sample collection, and assistance with positioning and restraint of patients for imaging and treatments/procedures.
n
- General reception and administrative duties.
n
- Upholding best practice and high standards of cleanliness and care to ensure the safety and health of the patients and the team.

Mandatory requirements for the applicant:

n

n
- Veterinary Nurse experience: A minimum of 12 months paid employment (not including placement)
n
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent (or working towards this).
n
- Passion for animal care.
n
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
n
- Punctual, honest and reliable.
n
- Team player.
n
- Must have legal authorisation to work in Australia.
n
