Nayax Australia is looking for an AML Analyst to join our Legal & Compliance team in Sydney. In this role, you'll own the case-level side of our AML/CTF compliance program: sanctions screening, ongoing customer due diligence, and KYC/KYB escalations across our Australian and New Zealand payment facilitation operations. You'll work closely with the Director of Legal and Compliance (ANZ) and our Regulatory Compliance and Risk teams, playing a hands-on role in the day-to-day compliance work that keeps our merchants onboarded efficiently

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

- Conduct KYC/KYB reviews and approvals and identity verification cases for escalations
- Perform ongoing customer due diligence (OCDD) reviews, including enhanced due diligence (EDD) where risk factors warrant it, review of customer profiles, ownership structures, and source of funds, PEP and adverse media screening, alert triage, and escalation of unresolved identity checks
- Document OCDD and KYC outcomes in Salesforce Compliance Cases
- Conduct sanctions screening quality assurance reviews and escalate discrepancies
- Support remediation of OCDD configuration action items working with third-party platform providers as required
- Support maintaining card scheme compliance certifications as required
- Contribute to and maintain the compliance SOP library
- Provide training and technical guidance to the onboarding team on compliance procedures and escalation criteria
- Support cross-border and cross-entity compliance matters as directed

What Makes You a Great Fit:

- 1–3 years' experience in AML/CTF and sanctions compliance, ideally in payments, fintech, or financial services
- General familiarity with AML/CTF regulatory concepts (e.g. AUSTRAC and/or DIA frameworks)
- Experience with PEP and adverse media screening tools
- Comfortable with case management systems (e.g. Salesforce) and structured documentation
- High attention to detail and sound judgement in escalation decisions
- Ability to work independently while flagging risk appropriately
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. law, business, or finance) is desirable but not essential
