Penrith Performing & Visual Arts (PP&VA;) is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership across one of Western Sydney's leading arts and cultural organisations.

PP&VA; operates a diverse portfolio including The Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre, Lewers: Penrith Regional Gallery, Q Theatre and Penrith Conservatorium of Music, delivering live performance, visual arts, music education and community programs.

About the role

n

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer & Artistic Director, the Chief Financial Officer will lead the organisation's financial management and provide high-level financial advice to the Executive Team and Board.

n

The role will be responsible for ensuring strong financial governance, effective planning and reporting, and the long-term financial sustainability of PP&VA.;

n

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide strategic financial advice to the CEO, Executive Team and Board
n
- Lead the organisation's financial strategy, planning and reporting
n
- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting and financial management
n
- Monitor organisational performance against budgets and financial targets
n
- Prepare accurate and timely management accounts, financial reports and Board reporting
n
- Oversee cash flow, financial controls, reconciliations and statutory reporting
n
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, legislation and regulatory requirements
n
- Lead the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinate the external audit process
n
- Provide financial analysis and advice to support business and operational decisions
n
- Identify financial risks, opportunities and strategies to support organisational sustainability
n
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and other core finance functions
n




- Manage and develop the finance team
n
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders across PP&VA;'s venues and business areas
n
- Support commercial, capital and strategic projects with financial analysis and advice
n
- Contribute to organisational planning and continuous improvement
n

About you

n

We are looking for a commercially minded and collaborative finance leader who can combine strong technical accounting expertise with strategic thinking.

n

You will have:

n

n
- Significant experience in a senior finance leadership or CFO role
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or a related discipline
n
- CPA or CA qualification
n
- Solid experience in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
n
- Demonstrated experience providing financial advice at executive and Board level
n
- Strong understanding of financial governance, risk management and compliance
n
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Experience leading and developing a finance team
n
- The ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical advice for non-financial stakeholders
n
- Strong attention to detail, integrity and sound professional judgement
n

n

Experience within the arts, cultural, entertainment, government or not-for-profit sectors will be highly regarded.
