About the Role

n

Bell Textron Australia is seeking a skilled and motivated AME Aviation Structures Engineer to join our engineering and maintenance support teams in Coffs Harbour (NSW) and Redcliffe (QLD).

n

This role is responsible for providing structural engineering and maintenance support across a diverse fleet of rotary-wing / Helicopter aircraft, ensuring continued airworthiness, structural integrity, and compliance with CASA requirements. The position will work closely with maintenance teams, OEMs, and regulatory bodies in a safety-critical aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Provide engineering and maintenance support for aircraft structural repairs, modifications, and substantiation
n
- Review, interpret, and apply OEM structural repair manuals (SRMs), engineering orders, and service bulletins
n
- Develop engineering instructions, repair schemes, and technical documentation in accordance with regulatory regulations
n
- Support defect investigations, damage assessments, and root cause analysis
n
- Liaise with OEMs, and approved design organisations (DOAs) where required
n
- Ensure all engineering activities meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements
n
- Support maintenance teams with technical guidance on structural issues
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and compliance systems
n
- Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation
n
- Travel between operational sites as required
n
- Certificate 4 in Aeroskills Structures or equivalent
n
- Demonstrated experience in aircraft structural engineering environment

- Strong understanding of regulatory framework and airworthiness requirements
n
- Experience working with helicopter structural systems and repair methodologies
n
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and structural data
n
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability
n
- Ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams
n
- Proficiency in engineering documentation and maintenance systems
n
- Ability to meet DAMP requirements
n
- National Police Check
n
- Full Australian working rights
n
- Experience supporting Bell, Airbus, or Leonardo helicopter platforms
n
- Familiarity with composite and metallic structure repairs
n
- Previous experience in a CASA regulated environment
n
- Exposure to fatigue analysis, damage tolerance, or structural integrity programs
n
- Experience liaising directly with OEM engineering teams
n
