Job Description

The Physiotherapist will assist the medical and high-performance department in the provision of physiotherapy and medical services, as well as implementation of injury prevention and maintenance strategies, management of rehabilitation caseload and support of our high-performance department. They will also assist in support of sports trainers and other key training and match staff where able.

DAY IN THE LIFE

n

- Attend two trainings per week in pre-season (Tuesday / Saturday AM), and then two sessions per week (Main Session and Reconditioning sessions) in season, as well as prospect for match days (varies from Friday evening, Saturday/Sunday afternoon/evenings).

- Work to design & implement injury prevention plans for allocated players, with guidance from the Head Physiotherapist and High-Performance Manager.

- Assist High-Performance Manager with implementation of the physical program and individual management of athletes
n
- Provide physiotherapy services during training and matches to ensure VFL listed players are receiving the highest level of care.

- Perform diagnosis and assessment of injuries during training alongside the Head Physiotherapist.

- Support sports trainers in training and match-day processes as required

QUALIFICATIONS

n

Mandatory

n

n
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or graduate-level physiotherapy equivalent)
n
- Current AHPRA registration as a physiotherapist
n
- Strong practical experience in manual therapy, injury management and taping
n
- Experience designing and implementing rehabilitation programs in a sporting population
n
- Experience with the implementation of injury prevention strategies
n
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
n
- Previous experience in local sport, talent pathways or VFL programs
n
- APA Level 1 or 2 /or Sports Physiotherapy qualification
n
- Qualification / Certification in Strength and Conditioning (ie. ASCA)
n
- Experience using Lumin Sports to program and modify gym/rehabilitation programs
n
- Experience interpreting GPS data to inform decisions
