Job Description

Profectus is seeking multiple experienced Senior C#/.NET Software Engineers to support application development and sustainment within an Australian Government agency. You will work across the full stack of application development within a small team, building and maintaining web applications and custom internal applications in a Microsoft workplace. The work covers solution design, coding, database development, release and deployment, and Level 3 support of production applications.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Design and develop scalable applications using C# and .NET Framework/.NET Core
n
- Build and maintain web applications using ASP.NET MVC, Web API and modern front end technologies
n
- Create and maintain database solutions using SQL Server, Entity Framework and related data technologies
n
- Develop responsive user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
n
- Maintain deployment procedures, code repositories and CI/CD pipelines
n
- Write clean, maintainable and well documented code aligned to established coding standards
n
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other developers
n
- Optimise application performance and address scalability requirements
n
- Work with testing teams to confirm quality before release
n
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers
n
- Debug and resolve software defects and performance issues
n
- Maintain and enhance existing applications based on user feedback and business requirements
n
- Monitor application performance using logging and monitoring tools and implement improvements
n
- Document technical specifications and maintain system documentation
n

Required Experience

n

n
- 5+ years of commercial C# development experience
n
- Strong proficiency with .NET Framework 4.5+ and/or .NET Core/.NET 5+
n




- Experience with ASP.NET MVC, Web API and web application development
n
- Solid understanding of object oriented programming principles and design patterns
n
- SQL Server experience covering database design and complex query development
n
- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and at least one modern JavaScript framework
n
- Experience with DevOps practices, source control and CI/CD pipelines
n
- Ability to take technical responsibility across all stages of software development and to plan and drive development activities
n
- Experience planning and delivering release packages, including risk assessment, post release review and rollback
n
- Experience delivering systems integration between applications and building continuous integration capability
n

Desirable Experience

- Experience designing complex applications, components and modules, including alternative design options and trade offs
n
- Experience taking technical responsibility for configuration development and deployment
n
- Ability to advise on and select development methods and tools in line with agreed standards
n
- Awareness of emerging technologies and their impact on an organisation
n
- Previous experience delivering within an Australian Government agency
n

Security Clearance Requirements

- Must be an Australian Citizen
n
- Must be able to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) clearance
n
- An active NV1 clearance is preferred
n
