Riggers, Doggers and Mechanical Tradespeople

n Casual commencement 45 –60 hours per week available

About the opportunity
n
Particular Engineering is expanding its St Marys factory team to support a robust pipeline of mechanical-services prefabrication and modular assembly work.
n
We are primarily seeking:
n
n
- Licensed riggers and doggers
n
- Qualified mechanical and fabrication tradespeople
n
- Highly experienced operators who hold both forklift and EWP tickets
n
n
These are skilled, hands-on positions. We need people who can work productively, follow drawings, assemble accurately, operate equipment safely and identify problems before they create rework.
n
We are not currently recruiting entry-level general hands.
n
Pay rates
n
The following are casual ordinary-time rates:
n
n
- Licensed riggers and doggers: $50 per hour
n
- Fully qualified tradespeople: From $50 per hour, depending on qualifications, experience and capability
n
- Experienced non-trade operators: $40 to $50 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated ability
n
n
Superannuation is paid in addition.
n
Overtime and applicable penalty rates are paid in accordance with the relevant award.
n
Hours and duration
n
n
- Positions commence on a casual basis
n
- Regular Monday-to-Friday work
n
- Typical starting time around 6:30 am
n
- Approximately 50–60 hours per week currently available
n
- Strong pipeline of approximately two years of upcoming factory work
n
- Continued hours remain subject to production requirements, employee performance and project schedules
n
- Applicants should be genuinely available and willing to work regular overtime.
n
n
Award coverage
n
All positions are employed under the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2020 [MA000010], commonly referred to as the Metal Workers Award.
n
Employees will be classified according to their qualifications, experience and the duties they perform.
n
Riggers and doggers
n
n
- You must hold a current Australian High Risk Work Licence for dogging or rigging.
n
- Slinging, dogging and rigging loads
n
- Positioning large mechanical and structural modules
n
- Using lifting equipment and overhead cranes
n
- Installing and aligning structural frames
n
- Supporting forklift and crane movements
n
- Assisting with lift planning and load control
n
- Preparing completed modules for transport
n
- Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Riggers are encouraged to apply.
n
n
Qualified tradespeople
n
n
- We are interested in:
n
- Mechanical plumbers
n
- Mechanical fitters
n
- Boilermakers
n
- Structural installers
n
- Other relevant mechanical or engineering trades
n
- Prefabricating mechanical pipework and equipment modules
n
- Installing pipe, valves, fittings, brackets and supports
n
- Assembling, bolting and aligning structural frames
n
- Reading fabrication drawings and work instructions
n
- Measuring and checking dimensions
n
- Completing fit-up, installation and quality checks
n
- Identifying drawing, material and fabrication discrepancies
n
- Preparing completed modules for inspection and transport
n
n
Experienced operators without a trade
n
n
- We will consider experienced applicants without a formal trade qualification, but they must:
n
- Hold a current forklift High Risk Work Licence
n
- Hold a current EWP ticket or licence
n
- Have substantial factory, construction, mechanical-assembly or structural-installation experience
n
- Be competent with hand and power tools
n
- Be capable of completing productive work without constant supervision
n
- Demonstrate good mechanical awareness and attention to detail
n
- Both forklift and EWP qualifications are mandatory for applicants without a trade qualification or rigging licence.

- Welding or fabrication capability

- Experience working under inspection and test plans

- Leading-hand or supervisory experience
