Field Technician – Automation & Machine Vision

We are seeking a practical, hands-onMachinery Technicianto work with advanced fruit grading, sorting and automation machinery.

n

The role combineselectronics, computers, networking, machine vision and industrial machinery, including installation, commissioning, servicing and troubleshooting at customer sites.

n

Travel is essential, including regular customer-site visits, interstate and occasional international travel.

n

Australian citizenship and unrestricted Australian work rights are required.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- · Install, commission, service and troubleshoot machinery at customer sites.
n
- · Install and configure computers, cameras, sensors, ELV equipment and control panels.
n
- · Install, terminate and test Ethernet/network cabling.
n
- · Configure and troubleshoot networks, IP addresses and proprietary machine software.
n
- · Configure and calibrate machine vision and industrial cameras.
n
- · Test, fault-find and troubleshoot electronic, computer and automation systems.
n
- · Read wiring diagrams, technical drawings and documentation.
n
- · Assist with machinery installation, adjustment and commissioning.
n
- · Maintain accurate service and installation records.
n
- · Provide technical support to customers and resolve on-site issues.
n
- · Australian citizenship and unrestricted Australian work rights.
n
- · Current Australian driver's licence.
n
- · Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including interstate and occasional international travel.
n
- · Good computer literacy and confidence with Windows and Linux.
n




- · Experience with Ethernet/network cabling and basic networking.
n
- · Experience installing computers, cameras, sensors and electronic equipment.
n
- · Ability to use hand tools and basic electronic test equipment.
n
- · Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
n
- · Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
n
- · Ability to work independently and professionally at customer sites.
n

Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:

n

n
- · Industrial machinery and automation.
n
- · Machine vision and industrial cameras.
n
- · Fruit grading, sorting or packing machinery.
n
- · PLCs, sensors, conveyors or industrial control systems.
n
- · Mechanical assembly and maintenance.
n
- · Electrical/electronic fault-finding.
n
- · Field service or customer‐site work.
n

Experience with fruit grading equipment is not essential. Training will be provided to the right candidate.

n

You will bepractical, technically minded, reliable and willing to learn, with an interest in machinery, electronics, computers and automation.

n

You should be comfortable troubleshooting problems independently, working at customer sites and travelling frequently.
