Key responsibilities

n

- As a member of the Australian Electoral Commission's (AEC's) Indigenous Electoral Participation Program (IEPP), you will support Assistant Directors, Senior Engagement Officers and project-based staff to strengthen electoral participation among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and contribute to more inclusive democratic processes.

- In this role, you will apply evidence-based approaches and best practice to develop and maintain key resources, support legislative and policy initiatives, and contribute to the AEC's commitment to continuous improvement.

- You will also assist in preparing funding proposals, senior executive briefings and other program activities that support the outcomes of the IEPP.

What you need

- Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the ability to engage and communicate in a culturally appropriate and respectful manner.
n
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and engage respectfully, sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
n
- Experience in delivering results within a changing, complex or evolving workplace, including procurement or contract management activities, or the ability to quickly acquire and apply these skills.
