CAPDA is seeking experienced Defence Systems Engineers to support the delivery of complex Defence capability projects within acquisition, sustainment and technical governance environments.

n

Working as part of multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to systems engineering, engineering governance, technical assurance and capability delivery activities across a range of Defence programs. These roles offer the opportunity to work closely with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and technical specialists to support the successful delivery of capability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Conduct systems engineering activities across the capability lifecycle.
n
- Undertake requirements analysis, development and management.
n
- Support system integration, verification and validation (V&V;), test and evaluation activities.
n
- Participate in systems engineering reviews, design reviews and technical assurance activities.
n
- Review engineering and technical deliverables, including plans, designs, reports and supporting documentation.
n
- Contribute to engineering governance, certification and compliance activities.
n
- Support capability acquisition, integration and sustainment projects.
n
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams comprising Systems Engineers, Electronics Engineers, Communications Engineers and other technical specialists.
n
- Engage with Defence, industry and project stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
n
- Contribute to engineering planning, risk management and continuous improvement activities.
n

Essential Skills and Experience

n

n




- Degree qualification in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Science or a related discipline.
n
- Demonstrated Systems Engineering experience within a Defence setting.
n
- Experience undertaking requirements engineering and managing requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
n
- Experience supporting verification and validation, integration, test and evaluation activities.
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.
n
- Ability to analyse complex technical information and provide practical engineering solutions.
n
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
n
- Current Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance (minimum).
n

Desirable Skills and Experience

n

n
- Knowledge of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS).
n
- Understanding of Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC).
n
- Experience within CASG, Defence SPOs or Defence Prime organisations.
n
- Experience supporting capability acquisition, integration or sustainment projects.
n
- Experience reviewing technical and engineering deliverables.
n
- Understanding of configuration management, quality management and technical certification processes.
n
- Knowledge of Defence engineering governance frameworks and standards.
n
- Understanding of technical, logistical and operational considerations associated with Defence capability delivery.
n
