MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - Military Fuel Modules

n

You will undertake scheduled and corrective maintenance on military fuel-handling modules and their associated mechanical, pumping, filtration and trailer systems. This hands-on workshop role is suited to a qualified mechanical fitter, heavy-vehicle mechanic, truck and trailer mechanic, or similarly experienced technician who takes pride in reliable workmanship and accurate service records.

Key responsibilities

n

Conduct scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance

n

Diagnose mechanical and equipment faults

n

Service and repair pumps, valves, hoses, couplings, filters and associated fuel-system components

n

Inspect and maintain trailer running gear, brakes, suspension, wheel bearings and related components

n

Remove and replace defective or time-expired components

n

Conduct functional testing following maintenance and repair

n

Identify required spare parts and support parts ordering

n

Work from maintenance manuals, drawings, work instructions and inspection criteria

n

Complete maintenance reports, inspection records and other required documentation

n

Maintain tools, equipment and a safe, orderly work area

About you

n

A mechanical trade qualification, such as Mechanical Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or Truck and Trailer Mechanic

n

Practical experience maintaining trucks, trailers, mobile plant, pumping equipment or comparable mechanical systems

n

Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills

n

Experience with braking systems, bearings, suspension, hoses, pumps or fluid-transfer equipment

n

The ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and maintenance instructions

n

A methodical approach to inspections, testing and documentation

n

Valuable communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a small team

n

A strong commitment to safety, quality and completing work correctly

n
