We are currently seeking a reliable and hands-on Trade Assistant to join their manufacturing and maintenance team on a casual basis, with a genuine opportunity to transition into a permanent position for the right person.

n

About the Role

n

Working alongside experienced Maintenance Supervisors, you will provide day-to-day support to help keep the manufacturing facility operating safely and efficiently.

n

This is a physically active, hands-on role suited to someone who is mechanically minded, practical and eager to develop their technical skills in a modern manufacturing workplace.

n

No two days will be the same, with duties ranging from assisting with maintenance activities and machinery setup through to general workshop and factory support.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Assist Maintenance Supervisors with daily maintenance activities.
n
- Support preventative maintenance schedules and equipment breakdown repairs.
n
- Assist with machinery setup, tool changes and basic mechanical tasks.
n
- Perform basic grinding, drilling, cutting and use of power tools.
n
- Assist with workshop maintenance, factory improvements and general repairs.
n
- Operate forklifts,



pallet jacks and gantry cranes where appropriately licensed and trained.
n
- Receive, move and organise materials throughout the factory.
n
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard.
n
- Complete maintenance records as required.
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment.
n
- Follow all WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices.
n

Safety & Housekeeping

n

Safety and housekeeping are non-negotiable.

You will be expected to:

- Maintain clean and organised work areas.
n
- Follow a Clean As You Go approach.
n
- Return tools and equipment to their correct locations.
n
- Remove waste and hazards as you work.
n
- Correctly wear required PPE.
n
- Report hazards and safety concerns immediately.
n
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical and takes pride in doing the job properly.

You will ideally have:

n

n
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, workshop or trade environment.
n
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
n
- Experience safely using power tools.
n
- A positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic.
n




- The ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team.
n
- Strong attention to detail.
n
- Good communication skills.
n
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and housekeeping.
n
- The physical capability to perform manual handling and hands-on duties.
n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Previous experience in a trade, workshop or manufacturing environment.
n
- Mechanical aptitude.
n
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
n
- Current Forklift Licence.
n
- Full Australian working rights.
n
- Physically fit and capable of manual work.
n
- Strong commitment to WHS and safe work practices.
n

Highly Regarded

n

n
- Mechanical trade qualification or trade certificate.
n
- Experience in injection moulding.
n
- Welding, grinding or fabrication experience.
n
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
n
- Experience using maintenance software.
n
- WHS training or relevant certificates.
n
