Position: Anaesthetic Registered or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse

n

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Anaesthetic Registered or Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join our perioperative team.

n

The successful applicant will provide safe, high-quality patient care throughout the anaesthetic phase of surgical procedures and work collaboratively with anaesthetists, surgeons, theatre staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Provide protected and effective nursing care to patients undergoing anaesthesia.
n
- Assist the anaesthetist with induction, maintenance, and emergence from anaesthesia.
n
- Prepare and check anaesthetic equipment, medications, and airway equipment.
n
- Ensure that all equipment is functional, available, and appropriately prepared prior to procedures.
n
- Monitor patients closely and promptly identify and respond to changes in their clinical condition.
n
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
n
- Comply with infection prevention and control requirements and relevant clinical policies.
n
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, privacy, and dignity.
n
- Participate effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary perioperative team.
n
- Contribute to a positive, professional,



and supportive theatre environment.

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Current AHPRA registration as an RN or EEN.
n
- Previous experience in anaesthetic nursing and/or perioperative nursing.
n
- Sound knowledge of anaesthetic equipment, medications, and patient monitoring.
n
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision‐making skills.
n
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations.
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
n
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
n
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
n
- Working rights in Australia with no restrictions

Desirable

n

n
- Postgraduate qualification in perioperative nursing or related specialty.
n
- Relevant anaesthetic nursing experience in a hospital or day surgery setting.
n
- Current experience with a range of surgical specialties.
n
