We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Fitter to join our team in Norwest on a permanent, full-time basis.

n

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys variety, troubleshooting machinery and being the person the production team can rely on when things need fixing.

n

You'll work across a diverse range of production equipment, plant and machinery, with responsibility for preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, installations, fabrication and continuous improvement.

n

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

n

n
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair production and plant equipment
n
- Identify equipment failures and determine the extent of repairs required
n
- Replace worn or defective components and make operating adjustments
n
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues
n
- Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance
n
- Install, relocate and commission manufacturing equipment
n
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals and electrical/hydraulic schematics
n
- Fabricate equipment guards, supports, brackets and other components
n




- Carry out precision measurements using equipment such as micrometers
n
- Maintain buildings, plant and production equipment
n
- Prepare machinery for installation, relocation or removal
n
- Monitor spare parts and assist with inventory management
n
- Coordinate with external contractors when required
n
- Record and manage maintenance activities using Maintain X / CMMS
n
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
n
- Identify opportunities to improve plant safety, reliability and efficiency
n
- Ensure plant and equipment meet relevant safety requirements
n
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and safe working practices
n

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

n

n
- Mechanical Trade Fitter qualification or equivalent
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Maintenance Fitter role
n
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
n
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical equipment
n
- Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical/hydraulic schematics
n
- Strong knowledge of hand and power tools
n
- Experience with precision measuring equipment
n
- Strong fabrication and welding skills
n
- MIG and Stick/MMAW welding experience
n
- Comfortable with basic TIG welding
n




- Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
n
- Experience using CMMS software, preferably Maintain X or MEX
n
- Excellent problem-solving ability and initiative
n
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
n

TICKETS & CERTIFICATIONS

The following are preferred. If you don't currently hold all of them, you may be required to obtain them within the required timeframe:

- Forklift Licence
n
- Confined Space
n
- Working at Heights
n
- EWP Ticket
n
- Basic welding training - MMAW, GMAW and TIG
n

SAFETY IS NON-NEGOTIABLE

You'll play an significant role in maintaining a safe, compliant and reliable workplace.

n

Experience and understanding of Lock, Tag & Try, fire prevention, crane and forklift operations, hazard identification and plant safety will be highly regarded.
