Dee Why Orthodontics is seeking an energetic Part-Time Orthodontic Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated team in Dee Why, NSW. This is a part-time position 2 to 3 days per week (Tues, Wed, and some Thursdays) and no weekend work. offering flexible working arrangements to support our growing orthodontic practice. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. Your contribution will directly impact patient experiences and assist our orthodontists in providing high-quality treatment outcomes.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting orthodontists during patient treatment procedures and examinations
- Preparing and sterilising orthodontic instruments and equipment to maintain clinical standards
- Taking and processing intraoral and extraoral radiographs (X-rays) under supervision
- Applying orthodontic materials including adhesives, brackets and bands
- Providing chairside support and ensuring patient comfort during procedures
- Recording patient treatment notes and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Scheduling patient appointments and managing clinic calendars
- Greeting patients, explaining procedures and answering general enquiries
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic clinical environment
- Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Supporting infection control protocols and following health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

- A qualification in dental assisting or equivalent relevant experience in a dental or orthodontic environment is preferred but not essential.



We can provide on-the-job training for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, terminology and materials preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high clinical and hygiene standards
- Ability to work flexibly within a part time schedule
- A warm and friendly personality
- Current Working with Children Check (WWC) or willingness to obtain
- Willingness to undertake training as required
