Lead Civil Engineer - 12 Month Contract $90 per hour | 12-month contract | Head Office-based | Renewable Energy

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to join a leading renewable energy organisation on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong civil or structural engineering skilled to take a leadership role supporting multiple large-scale wind farm projects across Australia.

Working closely with project teams, contractors, designers and key stakeholders, you will lead a team of site-based engineers and supervisors while providing technical oversight across civil and structural engineering activities.

The Opportunity

n

In this role, you will be responsible for leading engineering teams and ensuring civil and structural deliverables are delivered safely, efficiently, to a high standard and in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

n

n
- Lead and manage a technical team of site-based engineers and supervisors across multiple wind farm projects.
n
- Provide people leadership, mentoring and performance management to the engineering team.
n
- Ensure engineering activities comply with established standards, procedures and project requirements.
n
- Review civil and structural design drawings and documentation against contractual requirements, Australian Standards, safety requirements and industry best practice.
n
- Review Inspection and Test Plans for civil components and infrastructure.
n
- Coordinate civil design interfaces with electrical engineering,



cranes, transport, construction and site management teams.
n
- Participate in Safety in Design reviews, project risk workshops and technical investigations.
n
- Monitor and report on design status, QA/QC submissions, site progress and engineering deliverables.
n
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to resolve technical queries, RFIs, variations and payment claims.
n
- Provide technical support and expert engineering advice through periodic site visits.
n
- Monitor civil and structural scope progress and develop practical solutions or mitigation strategies where delays or technical issues arise.

- Ensure all required engineering deliverables are completed on time, to a high standard and within budget.
n
- Contribute to improving engineering systems, processes, controls and departmental practices.
n
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
n
- Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with quality, health and safety requirements.

About You

n

You will be a qualified and experienced civil or structural engineer with strong project leadership experience,



ideally within renewable energy, major infrastructure or construction environments.

n

You Will Bring

n

n
- Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
n
- CPEng or NER registration with Engineers Australia.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, designers and clients.
n
- Strong technical capability in civil and structural engineering design reviews.
n
- Experience with pavement, road and drainage design highly regarded.
n
- Experience with concrete and foundation design highly regarded.
n
- Previous experience in the design and construction of wind farms highly advantageous.
n
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
n
- The ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, project-driven environment.
n
- Strong commercial and risk awareness.
n
- A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
n
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
n
- Experience using document control systems such as Aconex or TeamBinder highly regarded.
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
