MARKETING OFFICER – BANKSTOWN ARTS CENTRE
Part-Time | 21 hours per week | Canterbury-Bankstown Council

Are you a creative marketing and communications professional who knows how to turn great programs into compelling stories?
Canterbury-Bankstown Council’s Bankstown Arts Centre is looking for a passionate Marketing Officer to help grow awareness, engagement and participation across its vibrant arts and cultural program.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine marketing, digital communications, creativity and community engagement in a role where your work will directly help connect diverse audiences with arts, culture and creative experiences.
What you will be doing
- Develop and deliver engaging marketing, communications and promotional strategies across digital and print channels.
- Grow the Centre’s digital presence and audience engagement through websites, EDMs, social media and digital campaigns.
- Develop strategies to attract and engage new and diverse audiences.
- Manage website content, EDMs and support the Centre’s digital database.
- Analyse audience, visitor and income data to identify opportunities for growth.
- Work collaboratively with Council’s Communications & Marketing team to raise the profile of Bankstown Arts Centre.
- Develop engaging content tailored to different audiences and platforms.
- Support evaluation of cultural programs and audience engagement.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners and the wider community.
- Contribute to the promotion and delivery of the Centre’s diverse programs and services.
What you will bring
- Qualifications in Marketing, Digital Communications or a related discipline, and/or substantial relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing marketing strategies and systems.
- Strong digital marketing experience and a proven ability to increase online engagement.
- Excellent written, communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
- The ability to create compelling content and adapt your writing for different audiences and purposes.
- A flexible and collaborative approach, with a genuine interest in arts, culture and community engagement.
- A current Working with Children Check.
Experience that will set you apart
- Public relations and media networks
- Experience with multicultural issues in a diverse community
- Public relation skills.
- Understanding of multi-disciplinary contemporary arts practices.
- Working knowledge of relevant computer software systems e.g. Adobe Suite (InDesign and/or Photoshop), EDM systems like Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp or similar and CRM, Kuula/Matterport or similar.
- Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and/or Photoshop
- EDM platforms such as Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor
- CRM and digital audience management systems
- Grant writing and editing
- Contemporary and multidisciplinary arts
- Working with culturally diverse communities
- Digital platforms such as Kuula, Matterport or similar
- Current Class C Driver Licence
