We are HDE Engineers, an established Queensland engineering consultancy delivering practical engineering solutions and project management services across Local Government, Power Generation, Manufacturing and Mining. We're looking for a motivated Electrical Project Engineer to join our growing team and help develop HDE's in-house electrical engineering capability.

As HDE's primary Electrical Engineer, you'll work closely with our mechanical, structural and design teams to deliver multidisciplinary projects and develop practical electrical engineering solutions supporting the overall project delivery.

What You'll Do

n

You'll be responsible for coordinating and delivering electrical engineering projects across a range of industrial environments.

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

- Conduct site inspections, develop project scopes, and prepare proposals and estimates.
n
- Develop practical electrical engineering solutions for plant upgrades, modifications and new installations.
n
- Undertake condition assessments, engineering inspections and audits.
n
- Prepare and review specifications,



scopes of work, technical reports and engineering documentation.
n
- Coordinate electrical design and drafting deliverables in conjunction with our Mechanical and Structural Design team.
n
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors during project execution.
n
- Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, variations and deliverables.
n
- Work with HDE's external electrical contractors where additional technical or certification support is required.

About You

n

You're a practical, motivated Engineer who enjoys solving electrical engineering challenges and developing real world solutions. You communicate well, work collaboratively and are comfortable working within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

n

You're looking for an chance to take greater ownership of electrical projects and help build HDE's inhouse electrical engineering capability within a well-established engineering business.

What You'll Bring

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
n
- 5+ years' relevant engineering or project experience.
n
- Experience across either Local Government, Power Generation, Manufacturing or Mining.
n
- Experience in project scoping, site investigations, design and project delivery.
n
- Experience with industrial electrical systems and plant upgrades.
n
- A willingness to visit operational work sites.
n
- Experience with LV systems, power distribution, motor control, switchboards, instrumentation and controls, protection systems or industrial plant upgrades will be highly regarded.
n
- RPEQ registration, or eligibility and willingness to work towards RPEQ registration, would also be highly advantageous.

Location & Hours

n

This position will be based at either HDE's Gladstone or Rockhampton office. Candidates must live locally or be willing to relocate to Central Queensland.

n

Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

n

Friday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM

n

Alternate work arrangements can be discussed.
