WA 6065 BUTCHER OR SMALLGOODS MAKER ANNUAL SALARY: $80K TO $90K
FULL TIME PERMANENT Butchers employed by Proplan Meats Pty Ltd
prepare and sell meat and meat products, either directly to the
public, or to restaurants and supermarkets. We are a specialized
meat manufacturer and, thus all our staff needs to be experienced
Meat product specialists. They cut the meat into sizes small enough
for individual use and the manufacturing of our specialized
products. Since we cater predominantly for the South African expat
community, the butcher to be appointed should have a thorough
knowledge and understanding of how to prepare traditional South
African products like biltong, dried sausages, biltong sticks
(flavoured bites of biltong), biltong nuggets (flavoured chunks of
biltong), sosaties (traditional type kebabs) and smoked products
and specialised small goods. The incumbent butcher should be
skilled in the packaging and display of meat for retail sale. They
advise customers on the type of meat they sell and may make
recommendations about cooking or preparing their products in the
traditional way. Marinating, curing and smoking of meat form part
of small goods manufacturing The incumbent Butcher joining us must

Management Staff Training Experience in both a medium and large
environment is required. Experience gained both in Australia and
South Africa is required. 2. Skilled in the manufacturing of South
African Specialized Meat Products such as, but not limited to:
Boerewors Sosaties (Kebabs) Varieties of Specialized Sausages
Smoking and Curing of Meat Manufacturing of Smoked Meat Products
Preparing and breaking of carcasses for the purpose of specialized
manufacturing The incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of
making biltong in large quantities (1.5 ton per week) as well as
other Dried Meat Products: " Dry Wors" Meat Sticks, Processed
Meats) 3. Packaging of Products Experienced in the packing of
specialized products for specific distribution Trained in the
operation and preventative maintenance of specialized product
packing machines - Proplan Meats Pty Ltd operates a fully automated
biltong packaging machine. 4. Training: Practical "on the job"
training is required. Proof of Continuous Training is required.
Qualified butcher or Cert 111 in Meat Processing (or equivalent) is
required, with at least 2 years post qualification experience.
Salary: $80K to $90K
