Join a highly skilled engineering team working on a large-scale telecommunications provisioning platform that manages hundreds of millions of records.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Java Developer to work across a diverse technology environment, combining modern Spring Boot microservices with established Grails applications. You'll contribute to new features, platform modernisation and the ongoing improvement of complex, business-critical systems.

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Develop, maintain and enhance a suite of Java and Spring Boot microservices
n
- Work across systems supporting order management, trouble ticketing, network configuration and API gateways
n
- Support and modernise legacy applications built with Grails and Groovy
n
- Design and implement RESTful APIs using OpenAPI specifications
n
- Create and maintain database migrations with Flyway across multiple PostgreSQL schemas
n
- Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures and database logic
n
- Integrate the platform with external systems through REST APIsContribute to GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes
n
- Write unit and integration tests and maintain high code-quality standards
n
- Collaborate with frontend developers working with Angular
n
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in support rotations when required
n
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to team knowledge sharing
n

About You

n

You're a capable Java Developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and is comfortable working across both modern and legacy environments.

n

You'll ideally bring

n

n
- At least three years of hands-on Java development experience
n
- Robust Java 8+ skills and a sound understanding of object-oriented design
n




- Commercial experience with Spring Boot, including Spring Web, Spring Data JPA and Spring Security
n
- Proficiency with Maven build processes and dependency management
n
- Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database
n
- Experience designing, developing and consuming RESTful APIs
n
- Confidence using Git and established branching strategies
n
- An understanding of CI/CD build, test and deployment pipelines
n
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
n
- The ability to navigate and improve complex legacy codebases
n
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach
n

Highly Regarded Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial

- Groovy and the Grails framework
n
- Flyway or similar database migration tools
n
- GlassFish or other Java EE application servers
n
- GitLab CI/CD
n
- JMS or messaging technologies such as OpenMQ or ActiveMQ
n
- Distributed tracing using Spring Cloud Sleuth or Zipkin
n
- SonarQube, CodeNarc or comparable static-analysis tools
n
- Angular or other frontend technologies

- Telecommunications or network-provisioning systems
n
- Linux and Bash scripting
n
- Docker containerisation
n
- EnterpriseDB or Oracle PL/SQL compatibility features
