Service Advisor / Automotive Technical Advisor

Working alongside the Office Manager and workshop team, this is a hands-on support role for someone with a strong mechanical background who enjoys working with customers, helping technicians and making sure jobs move smoothly. You will become an important link between the office and workshop team.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting with quoting and estimating larger and more complex mechanical jobs
n
- Using mechanical knowledge to identify additional repairs and maintenance requirements
n
- Explaining mechanical issues and recommended repairs to customers in a clear and professional manner
n
- Supporting technicians with technical advice and assistance when required
n
- Helping technicians diagnose and work through more difficult jobs
n
- Reviewing technician findings and helping determine the best repair approach
n
- Assisting with job allocation and workshop workflow
n
- Checking jobs are progressing efficiently and helping keep technicians productive
n




- Assisting with parts identification and communicating parts requirements to the office manager
n
- Providing guidance and support to apprentices
n

About you

- Has a strong mechanical background and industry experience
n
- Has excellent knowledge of vehicle systems, repairs and servicing
n
- Can confidently assess and quote larger mechanical repairs
n
- Can read and understand technician findings and translate them into clear customer recommendations
n
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
n
- Is confident speaking with customers and explaining technical information
n
- Can provide practical support and guidance to technicians
n
- Has solid attention to detail and organisational skills
n
- Can prioritise jobs and help keep a busy workshop running efficiently
n
- Is comfortable using workshop/job management software and computers
n
