Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Project Engineer ready to take the next step up into a Senior Project Engineer role. This position carries real ownership - you'll be the technical backbone of the project, working closely with the Site Supervisor day-to-day and reporting into the Project Manager, but expected to operate independently without needing hand-holding from senior management. The role has a strong focus on concrete infrastructure delivery, with particular emphasis on FRP scope - from technical review through to on-site execution.

Key responsibilities

- Take full ownership of the engineering delivery of concrete infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on FRP works
n
- Review and approve temporary works designs
n
- Review reinforcement drawings and schedules for compliance and constructability
n
- Review and sign off on concrete mix designs
n
- Manage material ordering and procurement to keep the program on track
n
- Update and maintain construction programs
n
- Maintain daily cost control and tracking, flagging variances early
n
- Work hand-in-hand with the Site Supervisor to solve problems in real time
n
- Report progress, risks and commercial issues up to the Project Manager
n
- Operate autonomously and be the trusted technical decision-maker on site

About you

n

- Minimum 5 years' experience on Australian construction projects
n
- Proven experience working with tier-1 and/or tier-2 builders
n
- Strong track record project managing concrete infrastructure works
n
- Solid understanding of FRP applications in civil/concrete construction (essential)
n
- Confident reviewing temporary works, reinforcement and concrete mix designs
n
- Comfortable managing cost control, procurement and programming without close supervision
n
- A self-starter who can stand alone on site - you won't need to lean on senior management to get things done
n
- Solid communicator who works well with site supervisors, subcontractors and project managers
n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
