Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join an established cyber security team and help build, automate and mature its security capability.

n

This is roughly 50% hands-on Security Engineering and 50% cyber uplift. You'll work across SIEM/XDR, detection, cloud security and incident response, while using Python, DevOps practices and automation to make security processes more scalable and effective.

n

There's also a strong focus on exploring how AI can be practically applied across security operations and engineering.

What you'll do

n

n
- Engineer and continuously improve SIEM, XDR and security monitoring capabilities
n
- Build, test and tune high-quality security detections
n
- Support complex incident response, investigations and threat hunting
n
- Improve security visibility and telemetry across AWS and Azure
n
- Develop Python tooling and automation to eliminate repetitive security processes
n
- Apply detection-as-code, Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices to security engineering
n
- Work across vulnerability management, remediation and wider security uplift initiatives
n
- Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve security operations
n
- Partner with cloud, infrastructure and engineering teams to improve security controls and visibility
n
- Help mature security processes rather than simply maintaining existing tooling
n

What you'll bring

n

n
- Robust experience across Security Engineering, Detection Engineering or senior Security Operations
n
- Hands-on experience with SIEM and XDR technologies
n
- Strong understanding of detection engineering, security monitoring and incident response
n




- Python scripting and automation experience
n
- Experience securing AWS and/or Azure environments
n
- Understanding of CI/CD, Git and modern DevOps/DevSecOps practices
n
- Experience with threat hunting, MITRE ATT&CK; and attacker behaviours
n
- An engineering mindset with the ability to identify problems and build scalable solutions
n
- Experience with SOAR, security data pipelines or automated remediation would be highly regarded
n
- Exposure to AI within cyber security or automation would be advantageous
n
