Casual position working 2 days per week (with opportunity to increase shifts) in a busy specialist Neurosurgery Practice. Tuesdays are essential, with the second day likely to be a Friday. Flexibility is required to assist with staff leave and personal leave coverage. You will work in a supportive and skilled medical environment.
Key responsibilities
Welcoming patients and visitors
Answering phones and scheduling appointments & recalls
Confidentially managing patient records and data entry
Processing payments and Medicare claims
Handling incoming and outgoing medical correspondence
Providing administrative support to doctors and clinical staff
Maintaining a professional and welcoming reception area
About you
Must have experience working as a medical secretary (ideally at least 1-2 years)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Professional presentation and positive attitude
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Comfortable using computers and medical administrative systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and compliance with health privacy regulations
Ability to take initiative and be proactive
Experience in using Gentu / Genie medical software is an advantage
Supportive and friendly team environment
On-the-job training provided
Valuable experience within the healthcare industry
