Job Description

Nowra Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as an Emergency Department (ED) Liaison on a fixed-term, part-timebasis.

n

The ED Liaison Nurse will act as a key clinical interface between the Emergency Department and Nowra Private Hospital, supporting:

n

n
- Effective communication between ED clinicians, bed management, VMOs, and inpatient teams
n
- Liaise directly with Emergency Department teams regarding potential admissions or transfers
n
- Coordinate with bed management, Nurse Unit Managers, VMOs, and executive teams
n
- Facilitate timely and accurate exchange of clinical information and documentation
n
- Timely identification of suitable patients for transfer or admission
n
- Support escalation and problem-solving in complex or time-critical situations
n
- Contribute to data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement of the service
n
- Improved patient experience and system flow
n

About You

n

Your ability to have strong clinical judgement, advanced communication skills, and to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries will ensure your success in this role.

n

You will also bring the following:

n

n
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
n
- Minimum 24 months recent experience in Emergency, Critical Care, or Acute Medical/Surgical nursing
n
- Demonstrated high-level clinical assessment and decision-making skills
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
n
- Strong understanding of patient flow,



escalation, and admission processes
n
- Previous ED, critical care, or liaison-style role experience (Desirable)
n
- Knowledge of both public and private hospital systems (Desirable)
n
- Experience working with bed management and medical governance processes (Desirable)
