Fitter Machinist / Mechanical Service Technician

- $47.20 Per Hour ($93,264.45 Per Annum) + All Overtime Paid at Double Time from the First 15 Minutes.

- Friday 1:00pm finish with standard working hours of Mon-Thurs of 7:00am-3:30pm & Fri 7:00am-1:00pm.

- 5 Weeks Annual Leave + 17.5% Annual Leave Loading.

- Annual Performance Bonus of up to 6 weeks' salary (3 weeks at 100% KPI achievement).

Due to continued business growth, an exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Mechanical Fitter / Service Technician to join their highly skilled Service Centre team based in Smithfield, NSW. Role Tasks & Duties

n

n
- Disassemble mechanical equipment for inspection, servicing and repair, plus machining rail components and parts.
n




- Diagnose faults and prepare detailed inspection reports outlining repair requirements and replacement components.
n
- Reassemble equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturer procedures.
n
- Conduct testing and commissioning of repaired equipment to ensure operational performance and quality standards are achieved.
n
- Complete service documentation, repair reports and testing records accurately.
n
- Utilise a wide range of hand and power tools whilst applying sound mechanical fitting principles.
n
- Attend customer sites to install, commission, troubleshoot and repair company equipment as required.
n
- Provide technical support to customers during breakdowns and planned maintenance activities.
n
- Work safely at all times in accordance with company WHS policies and procedures.
n
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining high workshop standards.
n
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
n

Required Skills, Experience & Competencies

n

n
- Mechanical Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical or equivalent).
n
- Demonstrated experience servicing, repairing or overhauling rotating machinery or similar industrial equipment.
n
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
n




- Ability to interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings and specifications.
n
- Sound computer literacy with the ability to complete electronic service reports.
n
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
n
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
n
- Current Forklift Licence (highly regarded).
n
- Previous overhead crane experience is advantageous.
n
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
n
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
n
