Lismore Base Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses to join its Adult Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) team in Lismore, NSW. This is a contract position running for approximately 11 weeks, with a start date of as soon as possible and an end date of 30 November 2026. Two positions are available, offering the prospect to work in a specialised mental health and AOD care setting in the Northern Rivers region.

- Specialised AOD nursing in a mental health setting with direct patient care across alcohol and other drugs support
n
- Contract role, approximately 11 weeks, starting ASAP through to 30 November 2026
n
- Based in Lismore, a regional city surrounded by rivers and rainforest in northern NSW
n

Preferred Requirements
n
n
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
n
- Strong experience in alcohol and other drugs (AOD) nursing practice
n
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care in mental health and AOD settings
n
- Current Violence Prevention and Management (VPM) competency or willingness to obtain it
n
- Sound clinical judgment and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
n

Preferred Qualifications
n
n
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent, with current AHPRA registration
n
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated specialist experience in AOD nursing
n
- Current or recent Violence Prevention and Management (VPM) certification
n
