The Opportunity

The position offers a unique 50/50 specialist appointment, divided between General Medicine and Gastroenterology.

The successful applicant will provide specialist clinical care across both disciplines, working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

The role provides an opportunity to maintain a broad General Medicine practice while contributing specialist Gastroenterology expertise to the regional community.

n

Depending on experience and service requirements, the Gastroenterology component may include inpatient consultation, outpatient clinics, diagnostic assessment and endoscopic services.

General Medicine

n

The General Medicine component provides exposure to a broad range of acute and complex adult medical presentations.

n

Responsibilities May Include

- Inpatient assessment and management
n
- Management of complex and multi-system medical conditions
n
- Specialist consultation and clinical advice
n
- Multidisciplinary care planning
n
- Participation in clinical education and supervision
n
- Contribution to clinical governance and quality improvement

Gastroenterology

n

The Gastroenterology component provides an chance to deliver specialist care across a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary presentations.

The Successful Candidate May Contribute To

- Inpatient Gastroenterology consultations

- Outpatient Gastroenterology clinics

- Assessment and management of complex gastrointestinal conditions

- Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, subject to credentialing and experience

- Multidisciplinary management of patients with complex gastrointestinal disease

- Clinical teaching and supervision

Requirements Applicants Will Ideally Have

n

- FRACP specialist qualifications
n
- Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for specialist registration
n
- Specialist training and experience in both General Medicine and Gastroenterology
n
- Candidates who are due to attain Fellowship within the next six months are encouraged to enquire
n

n

International Medical Graduates

n

SIMGs are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly candidates who have received a RACP Substantially Comparable outcome in both General Medicine and Gastroenterology.

n

UK and Irish-trained physicians progressing through the RACP specialist assessment pathway are also encouraged to discuss their individual circumstances and eligibility with Sante Recruitment.
