About The Role

n

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and customer focused Emergency Services Clerk to join our Emergency Services team for a fixed term opportunity.

n

This is a varied and rewarding role, where you will support the delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced workplace.

n

Following the fixed-term period, there may be an opportunity to transition to a casual position, with the ability to work up to 72 hours per fortnight.

n

Key Accountabilities

n

n
- Provide a professional, welcoming and customer-focused service to patients, families and visitors.
n
- Accurately collect, enter and maintain patient information for clinical and billing purposes.
n
- Support the smooth operation of the Emergency Department through timely administrative assistance.
n
- Liaise effectively with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across the hospital.
n

About You

n

n
- Previous administrative or clerical experience, ideally within a healthcare environment.
n
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a professional telephone manner.
n
- Ability to work effectively in a busy and changing environment.
n

Desirable

n

n
- Experience working within an Emergency Department or acute healthcare setting.
n
- Knowledge of hospital patient administration systems.
