About the role...

n

We are seeking an experienced and capable Finance Manager who is passionate about Christian education and excited to use their professional expertise to support a growing and influential ministry. The successful applicant will actively support the Christian mission, vision, values and ethos of the College while contributing to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

n

Reporting to the Business Manager, you will lead and continuously strengthen the finance function across the Calvary Education Group, including Eaton College.

n

This is more than a traditional finance role. You will be a trusted financial leader,



providing strategic advice, supporting sound decision-making and ensuring the College's resources are stewarded effectively for long-term sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:

n

- Strategic financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
n
- Financial reporting to Leadership, Committees and the Board
n
- Treasury, cashflow and financial risk management
n
- Payroll oversight and strong internal controls
n
- Taxation, audit and statutory compliance
n
- Government funding and reporting requirements
n
- Asset and capital project management
n
- Leadership, mentoring and development of the Finance Team
n

What we are looking for?

n

To be successful in this role, you will hold a current positive Working with Children Check or the ability to obtain and satisfy all required pre‐employment screening requirements.

n

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

- Christian commitment: A genuine commitment to Christian education and alignment with Calvary's mission, values and ethos.

- Financial leadership: Proven experience across budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cashflow, audit and internal controls.
n
- Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, payroll, funding and statutory compliance.
n
- People leadership: The ability to lead, develop and support a high-performing Finance Team.
n
- Systems and analytical skills: Strong financial systems and data analysis capability, with a focus on improving processes and controls.
n
- Communication and organisation: Strong communication, problem‐solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
n

n

Highly regarded, but not essential:

n

n
- Degree qualification in Business, Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline.
n
- CPA or CA membership.
n
- Previous experience working within a school or education environment.
n
- Experience with TASS or a comparable school management system will be advantageous.
n
