This is a junior appointment in a broad-scope role. The successful applicant will work on the foundry floor while taking a leading role in modernising operations — digitising technical records, improving process control, and progressing the business towards ISO 9001 certification.

Key responsibilities

n

Digitising the pattern library, operating procedures and technical drawings, replacing existing paper-based records with a searchable and appropriately backed-up system.

n

Identifying and implementing process improvements across non-ferrous casting, finishing and materials handling operations.

n

Developing quality assurance plans and supporting documentation, with the objective of achieving ISO 9001 certification.

n

Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the foundry alongside the production team.

n

Evaluating and scoping ERP options suited to a foundry environment, linking quoting, scheduling and inventory to provide reliable job costing in place of manual spreadsheets.

About you

n

A degree in process, mechanical, manufacturing or materials engineering. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

n

Motivated, well organised, methodical and comfortable working in a manufacturing setting.

n

A demonstrated interest in manufacturing. Experience in non-ferrous casting or metals more generally is desirable but not essential.

n

A methodical approach to documentation and systems, with a preference for establishing sound procedures rather than short-term workarounds.

n





Sound written communication skills, as a significant component of the role involves preparing documentation for use by others.

n

Competence with the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Excel (including formulas, data tables and pivot tables), Word and Outlook.

Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software such as IronCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or Inventor, and the ability to interpret and revise engineering drawings.

n

Familiarity with document and file management practices, including version control, naming conventions and structured folder or cloud-based systems such as SharePoint or OneDrive.

n

Experience with, or a demonstrated aptitude for learning, ERP or MRP systems and production scheduling software.

n

Australian work rights and the ability to work on site at Riverwood premises.
