Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting practice in Townsville.

This is a hands-on role suited to an accountant who is confident managing a portfolio of clients and completing a broad range of taxation, compliance and SMSF work from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Preparation and lodgement of Individual Tax Returns
n
- Company, Trust and Partnership tax returns
n
- Preparation of financial statements and year-end accounts
n
- SMSF financial statements and tax returns
n
- BAS and IAS preparation and lodgement
n
- GST and PAYG compliance
n
- Tax planning and year-end tax matters
n
- Preparation of workpapers and reconciliationsLiaising with the ATO and ASIC where required
n
- Reviewing client records and identifying outstanding information
n
- Assisting clients with general taxation and accounting queries
n
- Managing jobs through to completion and ensuring lodgement deadlines are met
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who:

n

n
- Has strong Australian public practice accounting experience
n
- Has solid knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance requirements
n
- Is experienced across individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs
n




- Can independently prepare financial statements and tax returns from start to finish
n
- Has strong attention to detail and takes ownership of their work
n
- Is organised and capable of managing multiple client deadlines
n
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- Is comfortable communicating directly with clients
n
- Has experience with accounting and tax software such as Xero, Xero Tax, MYOB, Class Super or BGL
n

CA/CPA/IPA qualifications or progress towards qualification will be highly regarded.
