Youth & Community Worker - Casual Pool | Local Government

The Company
n Our client is a local council delivering community programs that support participation, connection and wellbeing across the local government area.
n The Youth Team works with young people aged 12–25, delivering inclusive cultural, educational, social and recreational programs in partnership with schools, community organisations and other stakeholders.

n

They are seeking casual Youth & Community Workers to join their pool and provide additional support across existing programs. This is a multi-site role, with programs delivered across locations including Millers Point, Moore Park, Rosebery and other community venues.

The Job

n

This is a hands-on support role working alongside permanent staff to safely and effectively deliver structured youth programs.

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

n
- Support youth and community programs, including after-school and school holiday activities.
n
- Engage and build positive relationships with young people aged 12–25.
n
- Assist with activity supervision, set-up and pack-down.
n




- Follow safety procedures, risk assessments and safeguarding requirements.
n
- Support administration, referrals and support pathways.
n
- Identify and elevate concerns or disclosures appropriately.
n
- Work collaboratively with staff and community stakeholders.
n

You

n

To be successful, you will have:

n

n
- Experience working with young people across youth, education, recreation or community services.
n
- A qualification in Youth Work, Community Services or a related field is desirable.
n
- Strong communication, interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
n
- A collaborative, energetic and proactive approach.
n
- Robust safety and risk awareness.
n
- Confidence supporting structured programs across multiple locations.
n
- Flexibility to work shifts based on program and operational needs.
n

Mandatory Requirements

n

n
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
n
- National Criminal Record Check.
n
