We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead the delivery of our services at an established Bowen Basin coal operation.

About the Role

n

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be Briones Group's senior representative on site and responsible for the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of our contract.

n

The position is focused on managing Briones Group's workforce and service delivery rather than the mine's broader maintenance department. You will oversee our supervisors and crews, coordinate upcoming work and maintain a strong working relationship with the client.

n

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can keep people organised, follow work through to completion and ensure the commercial and administrative requirements are not left behind.

n

The position is permanent full-time and paid on an hourly basis, with the rate negotiated according to experience.

n

Roster options include:

n

- 5 days on, 2 days off; or
n
- 4 days on, 3 days off.
n

n





Both options are dayshift only and will be agreed based on the successful applicant's location and operational requirements.

n

A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided for work and agreed DIDO travel. The position would ideally suit someone based in Rockhampton, Mackay, Emerald, Middlemount or the surrounding Bowen Basin region.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of Briones Group's site maintenance, project and breakdown activities.
n
- Manage and support site supervisors, leading hands, tradespeople and subcontractors.
n
- Act as the primary point of contact between Briones Group and the client's maintenance, planning, operations and contract teams.
n
- Coordinate workforce planning, rosters, mobilisation, onboarding, training and site coverage.
n
- Ensure upcoming work is properly scoped, planned and resourced.
n
- Confirm labour, materials, equipment, permits and work fronts are ready before work commences.
n
- Provide visible safety leadership and ensure compliance with site requirements, the SHMS and Briones Group procedures.
n
- Monitor work-order completion, labour utilisation, productivity, quality and overall site performance.
n
- Ensure timesheets, supporting records and completed-work documentation are accurate and submitted on time.
n
- Identify and manage scope changes, variations and additional work.
n
- Assist with pricing and planning smaller site works where required.
n
- Work closely with Briones Group's workshop, projects, safety and administration teams.
n
- Address personnel, performance, safety and quality issues promptly.
n
- Provide regular reporting on completed work, upcoming activities, labour requirements, risks and commercial matters.
n
- Support the ongoing development and growth of the site contract.

About You

n

n
- Previous experience as a Site Superintendent, Site Coordinator, Site Manager or experienced Senior Supervisor within a mining contractor environment.
n
- Strong experience delivering fixed-plant maintenance, mechanical, fabrication, structural or SMP work on an operating mine site.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing supervisors and multi-trade workforces.
n
- Strong safety leadership and a sound understanding of Queensland coal-mining requirements.
n
- Good commercial awareness, including labour management, cost control, variations and contractor performance.
n
- Strong planning, organisation and follow-through.
n
- The ability to build qualified relationships with client representatives at all levels.
n
- Good written communication, reporting and computer skills.
n
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and electronic scheduling, safety and reporting systems.
n
- Current Standard 11, Queensland Coal Board Medical and Class C Driver Licence, or the ability to obtain them.
n
- G1, G8 and G9 competencies will be highly regarded.
n
- A mechanical, boilermaking, fitting or other relevant trade qualification will be highly regarded.
n
- Able to reside within a practical DIDO distance of the operation.
n
