An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and motivated Assistant Trainer to join the team at Shane Jackson Racing in Warrnambool. The role will support the day-to-day management of the Warrnambool stable within an established and growing operation.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting with the day-to-day management of the Warrnambool stable
- Overseeing staff and helping coordinate daily stable operations
- Managing horse treatments, medications and veterinary requirements
- Monitoring horses and providing feedback on their health, soundness and progress
- Assisting with planning work programs and communicating instructions to staff and riders
- Attending jump-outs, trials and race meetings when required




- Maintaining high standards of horse care, presentation and stable organisation
- Helping develop and support the team

About you

- Solid racing industry experience
- Confident handling and assessing thoroughbreds
- Comfortable taking responsibility within a busy stable
- Previous experience as an Assistant Trainer, Foreperson or in a senior stable position highly regarded
- Reliable and organised
- Able to lead by example
- Genuine care for horses and enjoys being part of a team
