Dream Ideas Pty ltd About the role : As a Travel Consultant, you will consult directly with clients to understand their individual travel requirements and provide tailored advice regarding destinations, itineraries, campervan and motorhome options, accommodation, attractions, activities and other associated travel services. You will be responsible for researching and recommending appropriate travel arrangements, preparing personalised itineraries, obtaining quotations and availability from suppliers, making and confirming reservations, and providing clients with the information and documentation required for their journey.

The position requires strong knowledge of travel planning and tourism products, excellent customer service skills and the ability to coordinate multiple components of a client's travel arrangements.

Task & responsibilities

- Consulting with clients to determine their travel requirements, including preferred destinations, travel dates, budgets, accommodation requirements, special interests and preferred travel style.
- Researching and recommending suitable travel routes and preparing personalised travel itineraries throughout Australia and New Zealand, taking into consideration travel time, destination preferences, transport availability, convenience and cost.
- Advising clients on suitable campervan and motorhome options as part of their overall travel itinerary and recommending appropriate accommodation, attractions, tours, activities and other tourism products.
- Researching destinations and providing clients with accurate information regarding tourist attractions, travel routes, accommodation options, activities, local travel conditions and other relevant destination information.
- Checking availability, schedules, rates and booking conditions for campervans, motorhomes, accommodation,



tours, activities and associated travel products.
- Preparing travel quotations and presenting suitable travel options to clients based on their individual requirements and budget.
- Making and confirming reservations for campervans and motorhomes and, where required, accommodation, tours, activities and other associated travel services.
- Liaising with campervan operators, accommodation providers, tourism operators and other travel suppliers to coordinate and confirm customer travel arrangements.
- Advising clients regarding travel dates, vehicle collection and return arrangements, baggage considerations, driving and licensing requirements and other relevant travel requirements.
- Providing general information regarding passport, visa, entry, health and other travel requirements where applicable and directing clients to appropriate official sources when necessary.
- Providing clients with information regarding available travel insurance options and explaining applicable booking terms and conditions.
- Collecting and processing customer payments associated with travel reservations and ensuring transactions and booking details are accurately recorded.
- Preparing and issuing detailed travel itineraries, booking confirmations, vouchers and other relevant travel documentation.
- Reviewing travel arrangements with clients prior to departure to ensure bookings and itinerary details are accurate and complete.
- Responding to client enquiries and providing ongoing assistance before and during travel where required.
- Managing booking amendments, cancellations, supplier changes and travel disruptions and assisting clients with alternative arrangements where necessary.




- Maintaining accurate customer profiles, booking records, supplier information and travel documentation using the company's reservation and customer‑management systems.
- Developing and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of Australian and New Zealand destinations, travel routes, campervan and motorhome products, accommodation, attractions, tourism experiences and seasonal travel conditions.
- Maintaining professional relationships with travel suppliers and tourism operators to facilitate effective customer bookings and travel arrangements.
- Delivering a high standard of personalised customer service throughout the travel consultation, booking and post‑booking process.

Qualification & experience

Qualifications and Experience The successful applicant will ideally have:

- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or at least three years of relevant experience
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience (required)
- Demonstrated professional experience as a Travel Consultant or in a closely related travel and tourism position.
- Experience consulting with customers to determine travel requirements and recommending suitable travel arrangements.
- Experience researching destinations and preparing personalised travel itineraries.
- Experience making, managing and amending travel reservations.
- Experience liaising with travel, accommodation, vehicle rental and tourism suppliers.
- Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand destinations, tourism products and travel routes.
- Experience with campervan, motorhome, self‑drive or adventure travel products will be highly regarded.
- Strong customer service and relationship‑management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple client enquiries, quotations and bookings simultaneously.
