Tora at Bowral Restaurant is a Japanese restaurant located in Bowral in the Southern

Highlands. We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team

n

on a full-time basis.

n

Key duties and responsibilities include:

n

n
- Preparing and cooking meals in accordance with established recipes and menu requirements.
n
- Preparing ingredients, sauces, stocks, broths, meats and vegetables for daily service.
n
- Cooking and assembling ramen, noodle dishes, rice dishes and other menu items.
n
- Operating commercial kitchen equipment including stoves, grills and fryers.
n
- Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients before preparation and cooking.
n
- Portioning and presenting meals consistently to the restaurant's required standards.
n
- Monitoring food storage, stock rotation and ingredient requirements.
n
- Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the
n
- Assisting with food preparation for lunch and dinner services.
n




- Working effectively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff during busy service periods.
n

Skills and experience

n

Applicants should have:

n

n
- AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with relevant on-the-job training, AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification; or
n
- at least three years of relevant commercial cooking experience in lieu of formal qualifications;
n
- practical experience working in a commercial restaurant kitchen;
n
- sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety requirements;
n
- the ability to work efficiently and consistently during busy service periods;
n
- good organisational and time-management skills; and
n
- the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
n

Applicants must be available to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
