Mackay Sugar is seeking expressions of interest from locally based applicants who are available for immediate start and interested in seasonal employment opportunities through to approximately November 2026. If you're eager to support a key local industry and play your part in a successful crushing season, we'd love to hear from you.
Factory Positions
- Fugal Operator - Play a key role in the sugar production process, operating fugals, molasses and magma systems to support efficient, high-quality sugar manufacturing.
- Yard Attendant (Cane Receiving) - Keep the Crush on track by supporting weighbridge operations and managing the flow of traffic and activities through the mill yard.
- Process Attendant - Forklift Ticket Required - Join our production team in a hands-on support role, helping keep the mill clean, safe and operating efficiently throughout the crushing season.
- Day Cleaner / General Mill worker - If you enjoy staying active and working as part of a team, this role offers a variety of practical tasks that support the safe and efficient operation of the mill.
These positions report to the Shift Supervisor and are responsible for the efficient and effective operation of both mobile & fixed plant support equipment within and associated with the Factory; as well as maintaining housekeeping standards within the relevant work area.

- Adequate mechanical aptitude for some roles
- Ability and willingness to work shift work - we are a 24/7 Operation during the Crushing Season
- An adequate level of physical fitness, such as lifting and carrying objects, climbing stairs and ladders.
- Availability for duration of 2026 crushing season.
