We are seeking an empathetic, resilient, and dynamic individual to join our team, as a Full-Time, Recruitment Officer. The position will be Full-Time. You will work in our office is located in Islington, New South Wales.
n
As a Recruitment Officer at Sunflower Services, your responsibilities include:
n
n
- Lead group recruitment interviews for Mental Health and Disability Support Worker positions, creating a warm, engaging and consistent experience while assessing candidates against Sunflower's values and role requirements.
n
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, from sourcing and screening candidates through to offer and onboarding.
n
- Source and identify quality candidates through SEEK and other recruitment channels, ensuring recruitment activity responds to workforce requirements.
n
- Screen and shortlist applications, assessing candidate experience, qualifications and suitability.
n
- Coordinate interview schedules and candidate communication, ensuring applicants are kept informed throughout the recruitment process.
n
- Conduct individual candidate discussions and follow-up questions as part of the selection process, providing clear and constructive feedback.
n
- Complete recruitment compliance, including background checks, reference checks, qualification verification and NDIS requirements.
n
- Coordinate onboarding, including contracts, training schedules, documentation, employee ID cards and Support Worker profiles.
n
- Support and coordinate in-person induction sessions, ensuring new Support Workers are prepared and supported as they commence.
n
- Collaborate closely with the Rostering Team to ensure recruitment priorities and workforce requirements align with current rostering needs, supporting timely recruitment to meet operational demand.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement across recruitment, interviewing and onboarding processes, including developing and refining interview approaches.
n
- Support workforce engagement and retention, including maintaining accurate recruitment records, conducting inactive employee audits and providing broader HR support.
n
- Participate in recruitment projects and initiatives across NDIS and Aged Care, such as our Two-Week Readiness Programand other workforce initiatives.
n
- Contribute insights into recruitment strategy, workforce trends and data analyticsto support informed decision-making.
n
- Work under the clear direction and guidance of the Senior Recruitment Officer.
n
- Provide coverage and support for the Senior Recruitment Officer during periods of leave or holidays.
n

To succeed in this role, you will need:
n
n
- Educationin Business Administration, Human Resources, Community Services, mental health, or a related field desirable.
n
- Experience in recruitment, administration or support workwithin the NDIS or community services sector is highly desirable.
n
- Strong interpersonal skillswith the ability to build rapport, maintain boundaries, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional phone manner.
n
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
n
- Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude, especially when working with vulnerable populations.
n
- Ability to work collaborativelywithin a multidisciplinary team and independently when required.
n
- Attention to detailin documentation, record-keeping, and administrative tasks.
n
- Ethical and culturally sensitive approachto client and staff interactions.
