We are partnering with an established commercial organisation in the Northern Rivers to recruit a Financial Operations Manager to join their team in Ballina.

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance function, leading a team of three direct reports and ensuring the organisation has the financial information, systems and insights needed to make sound commercial decisions.

The Role

n

Working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the business, you will take ownership of the finance function while providing practical, commercially focused financial advice.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Leading, supporting and developing a finance team of three
n
- Overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the business
n
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts and financial reporting
n
- Managing budgeting, forecasting and cash flow
n
- Monitoring financial performance and identifying trends, risks and opportunities
n
- Providing meaningful financial analysis to support commercial decision-making
n
- Ensuring strong financial controls, processes and governance
n
- Overseeing compliance and statutory reporting requirements
n
- Working collaboratively with operational leaders across the organisation
n
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting
n
- Supporting senior leadership with financial planning and business initiatives
n

About You

n





We are looking for an experienced finance professional who can balance technical capability with a practical and commercial approach.

n

You will ideally bring:

n

n
- Demonstrated experience in a senior finance, financial management or accounting role
n
- Strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting capability
n
- Experience leading and developing a small finance team
n
- The ability to analyse financial information and translate it into meaningful business insights
n
- Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of how finance supports operational performance
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or a related discipline
n
- CA/CPA qualifications or equivalent would be highly regarded
n
