Are you an experienced fitter, mechanic, fabricator, carpenter, cabinet maker, shopfitter or other hands‐on tradesperson looking for a practical, hands‐on role where you can put your skills to good use?

n

KAT Vehicle Shelving is looking for an experienced and capable hands‐on tradesperson to join our team. You'll be involved in assembling and installing shelving systems and completing commercial vehicle fit‐outs.

n

You don't necessarily need previous experience fitting vehicle shelving systems. We're also interested in hearing from experienced tradespeople with transferable skills from related industries.

n

We can teach you our products and processes — but we're looking for someone who already has solid hands‐on experience, is confident using tools and can work independently.

About The Role

n

This is a hands‐on, full‐time position based at our Loganholme workshop.

n

You'll be involved in assembling shelving systems and completing commercial vehicle fit‐outs. The role includes measuring, cutting, fitting and modifying components to suit a range of commercial vans and utes.

Physical Requirements

n

This is a physically demanding, hands‐on role. You'll spend a significant amount of your day working inside commercial vans and utes, including regularly getting in and out of vehicles, kneeling, crouching, bending and working in confined spaces while installing shelving and accessories.

n

The role also involves lifting and handling shelving components, materials and tools throughout the day. Applicants should be physically fit and capable of safely performing these tasks on a daily basis.

Your Day‐to‐Day Will Include:

n

- Assembling and installing KAT Vehicle Shelving systems
n
- Measuring, cutting and fitting timber flooring
n
- Installing slide drawer systems and vehicle accessories
n
- Installing roof bars, roof racks and ladder restraints
n
- Measuring, marking and modifying components for accurate fitment
n
- Reading and following drawings, measurements and installation instructions
n
- Completing quality checks throughout each installation
n
- Maintaining a clean, organised and protected workshop
n
- Completing work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
n

What We're Looking For

n





Previous vehicle accessory fitting or commercial vehicle fit‐out experience would be highly regarded. However, we're also keen to hear from experienced tradespeople with transferable skills from related areas such as:

- Mechanical or automotive work
n
- Fabrication
n
- Carpentry or cabinetry
n
- Shopfitting
n
- Automotive electrical
n
- Construction or installation work
n
- Other similar hands‐on trades

To be successful in this role, you will need:

n

n
- Solid experience working in a hands‐on trade or workshop environment
n
- Confidence using hand and power tools
n
- Ability to accurately measure, mark, cut and fit materials
n
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‐solving skills
n
- Ability to read and follow drawings, measurements and instructions
n
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work
n
- High attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship
n
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
n
- A current Australian Driver's Licence
n

This is not an entry‐level position. While we will teach you our products and processes, we're looking for someone who already has solid practical experience and is comfortable working independently.
