Cyber Security Advisor | 12-Month Contract | $900–$1,100/day ex. super | Sydney

A well-known Sydney government organisation is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Advisor to join on a 12-month contract. This is a senior, hands‐on role providing security guidance across the organisation's technology programs.

The role:

n

- Provide risk-based cyber security advice, assessments and assurance across technology projects, systems and services
n
- Review new products, services, applications and infrastructure solutions, recommending fit‐for‐purpose controls
n
- Advise project and technology teams on secure design and implementation
n
- Support cyber security governance — policies, standards and procedures
n
- Contribute to security awareness and training initiatives
n

What you'll bring:

n

n




- Strong working knowledge of the ASD Essential Eight (and familiarity with ISO 27001/27002/27005, NIST, ISM)
n
- Hands‐on experience securing Microsoft Azure / Entra ID environments, including network security
n
- Solid background in cyber security advisory, risk assessment, assurance or governance
n
- Experience reviewing applications, systems and infrastructure from a security lens
n
- CISSP, CISA or CISM highly regarded; OT security knowledge a plus
n
