About the Role

n

An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Mackay as Assistant OSHC Coordinator. This is a part‐time permanent position (18hpw), comprising of before school care, after school care and vacation care, for commencement as soon as possible or as negotiated with the successful applicant.

n

The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the Coordinator to provide programs for children aged 5 – 12 years in Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care.

n

Typical duties (but not limited to):

n

n
- Regularly evaluating the program to ensure it caters for the interests and needs of school age children and meets the requirements of the 'My Time - Our Place' Framework;
n
- Advising families about the program, policies and procedures when required;
n
- Where appropriate take on the role of Educational Leader within the service, provide guidance,



and support to the team on best practice programming;
n
- Working in support of the Coordinator on administrative tasks and efficient day to day operation of the service;

The successful applicant will ideally hold a minimum of a Diploma, or be willing to obtain a suitable qualification.

Mandatory Requirements

n

n
- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
n
- A minimum Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent (ACECQA approved qualifications) is preferred or the willingness to obtain suitable qualifications will also be considered.
n
- Completion of National Child Protection and Child Safety Training via Geccko platform:n n
- Foundation of Child Safety Training must be completed prior to commencement
n
- Willingness to complete Advanced Child Safety Training
n

n
- First Aid Certificate, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Training (ACECQA approved)
n
- It is a requirement of the position that the successful applicants undertake a National Crime Check (Police Check) or provide details of a Police Check that is not more than six months old.
n
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
