The Company

A leading provider of bulk fuel and dangerous goods transport services is seeking a Transport Contract Manager to support the efficient operation of a heavy vehicle tanker fleet.

n

Working within a highly regulated environment, the business delivers critical transport services across multiple customer sites, focusing on safety, compliance, operational efficiency and customer service.

n

The Position

n

This role is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing heavy vehicle tanker operations, ensuring customer requirements are met safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.

n

You will oversee transport scheduling, driver allocation, load planning and operational execution while acting as the key point of contact between customers, drivers and internal stakeholders.

n

This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating resources and managing real-time transport activities.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Coordinate daily transport scheduling, allocation and load planning activities
n
- Monitor fleet, driver and delivery performance throughout each shift
n
- Manage transport disruptions, delays, breakdowns and operational issues
n
- Oversee driver utilisation, fatigue management and compliance requirements
n
- Maintain Transport Management System (TMS) records and operational reporting
n
- Process driver paperwork, timesheets and transport documentation
n




- Engage with customers and provide operational updates and service information
n
- Monitor KPIs including fleet utilisation, DIFOT and operational efficiency
n
- Support safety, compliance and Chain of Responsibility obligations
n

About You

n

You may currently be working as a Transport Scheduler, Allocator, Fleet Controller, Operations Coordinator or Transport Supervisor within a heavy vehicle workplace.

n

You thrive in a fast-paced operational setting and enjoy managing multiple moving parts while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, compliance and efficiency.

Skills & Experience

n

n
- Experience within heavy vehicle transport operations
n
- Strong transport planning, scheduling and allocation experience
n
- Exposure to fuel, bulk liquids or dangerous goods transport highly regarded
n
- Understanding of heavy vehicle legislation and fatigue management requirements
n
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility obligations
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Experience using Transport Management Systems and Microsoft Office
n
- Ability to make decisions quickly in an operational environment
n
